Come live in the small town with a big heart!  The City of Gretna is located in Jefferson Parish, just outside of New Orleans, LA and McDonoghville is one of the oldest neighborhoods in the city.  Filled with charming architecture, the area has been experiencing a resurgence in popularity in recent years.

The City of Gretna is also home to the Gretna Heritage Festival, a growing annual festival that takes place the first weekend of October.  The city is also expanding their Mardi Gras celebration as well, adding new parades and events each year, including their own Lundi Gras party.

Each Saturday, the Gretna Farmer’s Market offers local produce, art, jewelry, music and more.  During the spring, free concerts are held between the levee and the river next to the Gretna Ferry Landing, offering music, food and a fun time for all ages.
